Ryan Repeats! 2nd 4wd Worlds for Cav

Ryan Repeats! 2nd 4wd Worlds for Cav

With back-to-back wins in the A1 and A2 4WD finals, Ryan Cavalieri proved he’s The Man in four-wheel — even if he is just 18 years old. His victory didn’t come easily; he had to beat TQ Ryan Mayfield, a hard-charging Neil Cragg, and the legendary Masami Hirosaka while battling difficult track conditions.

This was no freight train to the finish line; the lead changed several times, sometimes from corner to corner. Just when a driver looked like he was extending his lead, an unlucky bounce would cause a bobble and close the gap. The action was intense, but Cavalieri kept his cool and made all the right moves.

There’s one more A Main left to determine the final finishing order, but it’s all for second place. The podium’s top step is taken.

Ryan Cavalieri’s Worlds-Winning gear:
Car: J-Concepts BJ4
Radio: Airtronics M11
Battery: Trinity GP3700
Motor: Epic Shock 13x2
Servo: Airtronics 94Z60
Speed Control: LRP QC3

It took all three A-Mains to get a winner, but there's no disputing who number one is: it's Great Britain's Neil Cragg, wheeling for Associated. It looked like Cavalieri might double after winning the first Main, but Neil showed he's got the stuff by winning the next two (with Cavalieri and Maifield in tow in both runs).

XRAY drivers Burch and Dumas take 1st and 2nd at Novak TC Champs

XRAY drivers Burch and Dumas take 1st and 2nd at Novak TC Champs

Ralph Burch TQ'ed and won the hotly-contested modified touring class at the Novak US Touring Car Championships held at Trackside Hobbies in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Burch and XRAY teammate Mike Dumas were both driving new XRAY T1 Factory cars equipped with a few "in-development" prototype parts. New Epic 9-turn Cobalt modified motors using the Trinity XXX Silver brushes were reportedly used for power in both cars with Burch sporting SMC and Dumas running EPIC batteries. A straw poll of those who attended the race showed that XRAY cars were very popular for a significant portion of the field, including many privateers. There was also a common theme in the comments about the big horsepower of the EPIC Cobalt motors used to power the top two cars - more than a few racers in attendance said these new motors were the class of the field.
