The race has been awesome thus far. Instead of IFMAR style qualifying the pro racers compete heads up. The top four from the round of heats advance to the main event. In each semi the top three and advance. And in the LCQ or last chance qualifier all of the remaining pros are grouped together for two final spots. It is so much more exciting to watch the pros compete heads up for short sprint races. Most of the pro drivers I’ve talked to rather compete heads up instead of spending a few days qualifying.

As always the NitroPit track is awesome. The traction is up, the jumps are HUGE, and there are a number of lines throughout the track. It’s hot too, been over 100-degrees.

Speed World (actual facility where the Nitro Pit is located) is also hosting a Lucas Oil Off-Road Race simultaneously. Team Associated brought over several of the top pros including Carl Renezeder, Robert “Fig” Naughton, and Travis Coyne to compete in a celebrity RC race. They were totally having fun with the Associated RC8Ts. I will try and get some video footage of them racing up in the video player.

I’ll post more video after the main events. Thanks for watching.

Team Associated/Team Orion/Pro-Line’s Ryan Cavalieri wins the Pro Truggy class! Ryan ran a blistering pace that was matched by Hot Bodies/AKA’s Ty Tessmann for the first three-quarters of the race. Cav was able to create some separation and cruise to a victory in the final laps. Cav won $5,000 for his efforts.

Check out our interview with Ryan just minutes after his win.

Pro Buggy will be up soon. Kyosho’s Jared Tebo sits up front and says, “I’m ready to go.” I’ll post the results right after the race.
