The 2010 ROAR Electric Off-Road Nationals were held August 18-22 at Leisure Hours Raceway in Joliet, IL. This years Nats brought in over 300 entries of the USA’s top drivers to battle it out for 8 ROAR National Titles.

The weather cooperated all week long with temperatures in the mid to upper 80’s. At different times thoughout the week, the threat of rain was close but ended up holding off.

The race format consisted of:

Wednesday – Open practice 8:00am – 8:00pm
Thursday – Open practice 8:00am – 1:00pm / 1 controlled practice round in heats
Friday – 2 rounds of qualifying
Saturday – 2 rounds of qualifying
Sunday – Triple A-Mains
*All qualifiers and main events would be ran for 6-minutes.

In the Modified Truck Class Kyosho’s Jared Tebo was looking to continue his current streak of 5 race wins in a row going with his Team Orion powered RT5. It has been since after the Nationals last year at the HRH Shootout when Tebo’s streak began.

Throughout qualifying Tebo was very fast missing TQ in a few rounds by less than 1 second. Tebo went on to TQ the last round of qualifying to guarantee him the 2nd place starting position for the Triple A-Mains on Sunday.

In A-Main #1, Tebo started out smooth pacing himself with the TQ Dustin Evans. 2-minutes into the race Tebo was able to get around Evans and put in fast consistant laps to pull away from the tightly grouped field. At the end of the Main Event, it was Tebo crossing the finish line first putting him 1 step closer for the overall win.

In A-Main #2, Tebo once again made sure to get a clean start and get through the first couple laps. At the halfway point on the Main Event, Tebo made a pass for the lead and began to pull away. When the checkered flag waved at the end of the 6-minute race, it was Tebo first by the finish line to take home the ROAR Modified Truck National Championship with his Kyosho RT5!

To cap off a great weekend, Tebo also TQ’ed the 4wd and 2wd Modified Buggy Classes! Jared went on to finish a very respectable 3rd overall in 4wd Modified Buggy and 2nd overall in 2wd Modified Buggy landing him on the podium in all 3 classes!

Congrats also go out to Mark Pavidis for making the A-Main in the highly contested 2wd Modified Class and finishing 8th overall!
