EXCLUSIVE! Traxxas Telluride First-Drive Video!

The Traxxas Telluride is built for go-anywhere, do-anything fun and brings Traxxas’ proven Stampede 4X4 technology to an even more affordable price point: under $300!

The ready-to-run truck rolls out on Kumho Road Venture replica tires for all-terrain grip on everything from dirt and grass to rocks and trails, and new suspension arms pull the wheels into the fender wheels for realistic proportions. The Telluride’s sealed differentials are filled with 100K silicone fluid to resist diffing-out while rock crawling, but still allow for nimble high-speed handling. A “high stall gear clutch” takes the place of a slipper clutch to spare the Telluride’s 48-pitch gears from overloading, and a new plastic driveshaft connects the front and rear diffs. According to Traxxas, the driveshaft is rated for brushless power, so no worries if you’re thinking about doing a “Power-Up” to Traxxas’ Velineon system.

You won’t be in any rush to add more power though. The Telluride is geared for torque and the included 8.4v Power Cell battery provides plenty of rip–all the action in the video is with a box-stock truck using the included battery. We’ve only just begun testing the Telluride, but based on our video shoot (and our experience with the Stampede 4X4), we expect this to be a bang-for-the-buck favorite.

  1. Everybody is arguing what this truck is all about, and after buying and driving it, the answer is very simple. It is a truck built for bashing with a little bit of crawling capability. Though it is not designed to crawl. It is mainly built to run and tackle rough terrain at speed. And for me
This truck is fun, and enjoy this more than my axial scx10, and tamiya cr01.d
