Custom Chevy K5 Blazer Drag Truck [READER’S RIDE]

Custom Chevy K5 Blazer Drag Truck [READER’S RIDE]

With all the great scale truck hard bodies now on the market, it’s easy to see why Dan Boyle chose one for his latest scale build. But rather than go the traditional truck route, he combined his love of drag racers with RC4WD’s excellent injection-molded K5 Blazer. It sits on a heavily modified Axial Wraith frame, and a Traxxas brushless system provides the power—augmented by a Traxxas audio system to match the super-detailed V-8. He tubbed the rear with aluminum panels in the bed and mounted a fat set of See’s aluminum wheels. The dashboard, markers, and head- and taillights are all rigged with LEDs. Dan finished it off with a handmade parachute and a custom wheelie-bar setup.
