There are times you get to participate in unique events that are different from the normal race day. SDRC Raceway (sdrcraceway.com) in San Diego recently held one of these unique events dubbed “The 2.4 Hours Deux Enduro”. The 2.4 hour enduro consisted of having a minimum of three people on your team (with each person driving 45 […]
August 20-21, 2011 This past weekend I was invited out to a pig roast, well… a pig race. No, we didn’t race pigs. This was an annual racing event held by Eliminator R/C Hobbies here in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Like every year, they have a weekend of racing and a pig roast. Hence, race for […]
We have finished all the mains, ran the money races, and all the hardware has been handed out. Matt Farris was able to win the Pro Buggy Dash 4 Cash race again so he brought home a total of $630 this weekend! The top 3 for each class is listed below right above the pictures. […]
We held another brief driver’s meeting this morning and then we started the 1st round of qualifying. Today’s race format will be the same with 3 rounds of qualifying and then the mains. We will run another Dash 4 Cash race and then hand out the awards. I’m uploading videos that I have shot this weekend so keep checking back […]
Before we kicked off the 2011 Futaba Electric Challenge we held a brief driver’s meeting to go over all the grounds rules with everyone in attendance for the trophy race. After a few minutes of going over the rules with the drivers and answering questions, everyone took of their hats for the national anthem, and […]
After the mains and Dash 4 Cash races, we got together for one more event, the short course truck enduro race. 10 teams competed in the event and each team consisted of two drivers. Each driver would take a turn running the truck for 15 minutes while the other driver was on the track to […]
Before we started the mains the top 6 qualifiers for Sportsman and Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy competed in a Dash 4 Cash event, winner take all. In each race the drivers would compete to see who could complete 6 laps first. The only catch was that there were no marshals and if you wrecked your […]
Epic team drivers were spotted testing out their prototype 1/8 buggy and truggy brushless motors. These Revtech motors feature a ribbed can for cooling and I was told they use a 4 pole design. The team drivers were testing a 1950kv motor for their 1/8 electric buggies, and for 1/8 electric truggies they were running […]
Recently Novak announced that they will be adding 1/8 brushless motors to their popular Ballistic brushless motor lineup. At the 2011 Futaba Electric Challenge Novak drivers were spotted using some Ballistic 8 brushless motors to compete in the 1/8 electric buggy classes. These motors feature a 4 pole design, adjustable mechanical timing, and use an epoxy […]
There hasn’t been an official announcement yet, but Team Associated will soon be releasing 13mm front and rear spring kits for their SC10 4X4 short course truck. Each kit comes with four sets of springs to help you dial in your setup. Expect these to become available at your local hobby store soon.
This race didn’t offer any 1/10 buggy classes but I noticed these prototype wheels in one racer’s pit area. DE Racing is known for their great lineup of short course truck wheels and now it appears they are getting ready to enter the 1/10 buggy market too. And make their product stand out from the […]
This weekend we were running our promotion where if you show me that you have downloaded our free app from the App Store, I’ll hook you up with a free RC Car Action t-shirt. I was overwhelmed with the amount of drivers who had our app installed and actually ran out of t-shirts to give […]
