Losi Rock Rey: We have it!

Losi Rock Rey: We have it!

I was pretty excited about the new Losi Rock Rey when it was announced a few weeks ago and now I finally have my hands on it. It looked great in the photos on the Losi website but it’s even more impressive in person. I’m working on a full review for the June issue but I wanted to give you guys a sneak peak of the Rock Rey. Scroll down and take a look at this sweet machine.

Losi includes an LED light bar to help you find your way at night. It comes installed, hooked up and ready to go.

I really like the aggressive look of the body and it’s available with blue or yellow accents. The body is a two piece unit and requires the removal of several screws to take it off the chassis. Luckily there’s a easy load battery tray and you can gain access to it from the back.

The tires feature an aggressive tread pattern and are made out of a very soft compound rubber. The wheel nut size has been bumped up from 7mm to 8mm which improves durability.

The front end uses an independent suspension that has fixed length camber and toe links. The brake discs and calipers are a nice touch.

In the rear you’ll find a 4-link with solid axle suspension and a sway bar on the lower links helps keep the axles flat.

There’s a molded roll cage on top and on the bottom is a 3mm thick aluminum plate chassis. See that small rectangle door? That gives you access to the motor for maintenance and gear changes.

There’s your steak peak! I’m just about done with all my studio photos and I am really looking forward to getting the Rock Rey in the dirt and on the rocks. It looks like this vehicle is going to be a lot of fun.
