Tamiya and Rheinard Part Ways: A Racing Legacy Comes To An End

TRF is the racing division of Tamiya and has been closely associated with Germany’s Marc Rheinard since 1994 when Rheinard started racing at the young age of eight. In 2005, he made the partnership official when he signed for the iconic Japanese company and went on to score numerous victories including a long list of Reedy Touring Car Race of Champions, IFMAR Touring Car and 1/12 pan car titles. His long-standing loyalty to one brand is unusual among professional drivers, but like all things came to an end at the recent 2016 ETS #10 (Euro Touring Series) in Hrotovice where he has enjoyed success with an impressive 14 wins and 12 TQs over the last nine seasons of the ETS. This has lead to a lot of speculation about the brand and Rheinard, but although Rheinard has been gracious and thankful to Tamiya, has not provided any new information regarding his new sponsor at this point is still unofficial.
