King of the Gassers 1948 Willys [READER’S RIDE]

King of the Gassers 1948 Willys [READER’S RIDE]

2016 Reader’s Ride of the Year winner Dan Boyle sent in his take on the king of the gassers the 1948 Willys. Dan built it on an Axial Wraith frame, and powered the Willys with a Traxxas brushless system. He even incorporated Traxxas’ onboard audio system. He installed a set of rare See’s aluminum wheels. As is his habit, Dan decked out the V8 engine with tons of detail, including Hilborn fuel-injection stacks from Muscle Machines and a set of and handmade copper wire headers with brass collectors. The straight axle front end is also handbuilt. He didn’t tell us much else about it, but the photos do a lot of the talking.
