Monster & Scale Special Issue Sneak Peek

For the past few weeks we have been very busy putting together our next special issue called Monster & Scale. If it’s a monster truck, scale truck or something that has to do with vehicles like that, it will be in there. We have project vehicles, great how to’s an in-depth look at the RC Monster Jam World Finals and more. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the things you’re going to see in this new special issue.

For over 2 years I have been working hard on my old school Ford truck that was inspired by trucks from the 1930’s. Like that body? You won’t be able to buy it anywhere because it’s all hand made. In the issue you’ll see how the body came to life and what I did to make my Axial SCX10 chassis stand out.

I’ve always wanted a Tamiya CC-01 so I made it a point to put one together for this special issue. I could have just built it and kept it as a stock truck, but I gathered a few parts to make this truck a little different from what you get if you build it like Tamiya suggests. I’m also throwing on a unique body that kicks up the cool factor a bit.

We have coverage of the first ever RC Monster Jam World Finals that was held at this year’s Monster Jam World Finals. One truck that stood out was Dan Wyatt’s awesome 1/10-scale replica of the Avenger monster truck. We take the body off and show you what makes this truck tick.

I am a big fan of side-by-side monster truck racing and in this issue we show you how to start this type of racing on your own. We show you how to make the jumps, what timing system to use, how to get people to join and so on.
