A new engine from O.S. and an engine heater from TrakPower? Sounds like a two-fer post to us…

If you want to run the engine that won the 2014 Worlds under the command of Ty Tessmann, this is it. “B” is for Buggy, and the B2101 is O.S.’ best off-road mill with features that include a DLC-coated crank (DLC = diamond-like carbon, used to reduce friction)balanced with tungsten weights, a lower-profile heatsink head, and Type 21J carburetor. O.S. promises a limited-edition Ty Tessmann version soon, so we’ll stay tuned for that. For now, see the press release below for full details on the B2101.

TrakPower’s new engine heater spares your powerplant from cold-starting wear and tear by getting it closer to operating temperature (and thus freeing up the fit of the piston and sleeve) before you crank it to life. A thermal sensor holds the warmer at 180 – 200 degrees, and a covered port on top of the unit lets you temp the engine without removing the heater. To power the heater, you can use a DC power supply, 3S LiPo, or 12V battery. As you can see in the pic, a Deans-compatible Star plug lets you plug directly into a pack or use the supplied alligator clips. Full details in the PR below.
