Reader’s Ride: Chris Guit’s Tamiya Sand Scorcher

Reader’s Ride: Chris Guit’s Tamiya Sand Scorcher

This week’s Reader’s Ride comes to us from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and appears in the January issue of RC Car Action, where we said…

This Sand Scorcher re-release was given to Chris by his wife as a Christmas gift (what an awesome wife — take note, ladies). He upgraded it with a set of aluminum wheels and modified the steering to move the servo inside the Scorcher’s plastic cover. For power, Chris installed a Venom 3300Kv brushless motor along with a Tenergy speed control and a mini 2000mAh 2-cell LiPo. To keep this bug under control, Chris uses a Venom 3-channel radio and the driver’s head has been connected to the steering so it moves left and right with the wheels.
