Vaterra’s ever-growing line of models now includes a 4X4 monster truck, the aggressively styleed and well-equipped Hälix. Ready-to-run and brushless-powered, the new monster machine also features a Spektrum 2.4GHz radio system with the new Active Vehicle Control (AVC) technology.

Full-time 4WD is provided via shaft drive–you can see the green-anodized aluminum shaft clearly here, as it splits the chassis–battery on the left, electronics on the right.

Halix_power

Dynamite Fuse brushless power is standard., with a 3300kV 4-pole motor providing the ponies.

The speed control is waterproof, fan-equipped, and fully programmable.

Threaded-body shocks do the damping, and rugged aluminum 12mm hexes hold the wheels, opening the door to a wide variety of aftermarket options. No hurry though, the stock wheels and rubber have a chunky, tough-truck look and work very well for all-terrain action. Note the telescoping universal-joint axles and one-piece camber links.

DX2E

The Spektrum DX2E radio system provides reliable, precise control. As with the AVC-equipped Losi TEN Rally-X, the transmitter’s throttle trim knob has been reassigned to AVC control–just twist the knob to select as much or as little AVC assistance as you wish (or no AVC at all, if you like).
