This weekend, the fastest electric off-road racers in North America will head to the Northern California town of Chico for the ROAR Electric Off-Road National Championships, the final big race for these classes before next month’s IFMAR World Championships. Like the Worlds, this year’s Nationals will be held at A Main Hobbies’ incredible Silver Dollar RC Raceway on a huge outdoor course that will push the racers to their limits. All eyes will be on Team Associated‘s double-defending World Champion Ryan Cavalieri, who swept last year’s race in all four classes: 2WD Modified, 4WD Modified, Modified Stadium Truck, and Modified 2WD Short Course.
With the track surface prepared with sugar to increase the grip to near-asphalt levels, and huge gap jumps scattered about the high-speed circuit, this race is one you won’t want to miss. Can anyone take down Ryan Cavalieri, or will he sweep again and establish himself as the heavy favorite for another Worlds-level domination? RC Car Action’s Aaron Waldron and Joel Navarro will be reporting from Silver Dollar starting Friday morning – stay tuned to rca.airage.com!
