What is the best-looking RC car of ALL TIME?

Jul 17, 2013 11 Comments by

From the futuristic styling of RC’s “first wave” in the 1980s to the cab-forward look of today’s race trucks and buggies, RC has never lacked for wild design ideas. Which shapes resonate with you as pure visions of RC awesomeness? Choose any model or body design, past or present, car, truck or “other”—beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all (that’s you).

The pic below is just an example of the wide variety of styles in RC–you don’t have to pick from one of those images, the entire universe of RC is on the table!

About the author

I've been involved in RC for over 25 years, and first joined Air Age Media in 1997. I served as Executive Editor until 2008, when I went to work on the manufacturing side of the RC biz. Now back at RC Car Action, I'm thrilled to be doing what I love most--not just enjoying RC, but sharing it with all of you. In addition to RC, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife Kathleen and our wonderful daughter Audrey.

I like the HPI Mini Trophy for realism. The 5B would be my second choice.

Engineering wise, I really like the look of the Tamiya F201 (Formula 1), even if it broke a wishbone if someone looked at it wrong. Also, the first time I saw a car make I can’t remember, it was belt driven, prebuilt, called the something x2000. The screws fell out at every opportunity, and the belt pulleys came apart, but it was an amazing looking chassis.

TAMIYA Super Champ without a doubt! Which other buggy has F.F.P.D.S? Beautiful all alloy rear end with the iconic FS rear plate and oil bottle reserve out the back. Beautifully styled body with excellent livery to match. Just perfect! And the Tamiya promo vid, what a blast to watch, even today. I`ve never looked at any other buggy more than the SC, my favorite by far.

Tamiya #58519 Bruiser Toyota 4X4 Pickup Truck
