RPM has always been serious about their upgrades and making vehicle perform that much better.  Their latest and greatest offering is the trick gearbox housing and rear mounts kit for your Traxxas 2WD Slash, Stampede, e-Rustler and Bandit.  With this hop-up kit you receive three key parts that upgrade the stock gearbox, motor plate and the rear A-arm mounts to improve their durability and increase their performance.

Each part is crafted with durability and dependability in mind.  The motor plate is cut from 3mm thick 6061 T6 aluminum offering great strength with a mounting design that shields it from rear impacts and provides heat dissipation for the motor.  Then there is the gearbox housing which is made of RPMs signature blend of bulletproof nylons and is seriously tough.  The housing is built with precision to eliminate transmission noise keeping the internal gears enclosed, clean and safe.  The rear mounts are made with the same blend of nylons providing durability and easy A-arm removal.

Installation took a little bit of time as I had to disassemble the slipper and stock transmission.  Once I removed my stock gear housing I followed RPMs included instructions making sure to set aside all stock screws that are needed to reassemble the new housing.   Optional rear mounts are also included for your particular truck with 0 degree mounts for the Slash or Bandit and 3 degree mounts for the Rustler and Stampede.   All together this upgrade took about an hour but it’s a great time to do it when you tear down your truck’s drivetrain and transmission for a cleaning.  After the Slash was reassembled and running again it was evident the new RPM gear housing had toughened up my Slash making it more dependable race after race. The motor ran cooler thanks to the aluminum motor plate and I know that the gear box will stay dirt free run after run thanks to the closed case design.

This kit is definitely worth your investment if you are interested in upgrading your truck for all-around improved performance, durability and impact resistance.  RPM once again takes a good design and makes it great by taking it to the level of performance and dependability.
