This body 1st debuted at the IFMAR worlds, and now JConcepts announces that it is available to the general public. Check out all the features in the press release below:

JConcepts, out to Silence the competition in Buenos Aires, Argentina, debuts new Silencer body design at IFMAR World Championships.

Leading up to the 2012 IFMAR World Championships the JConcepts design team was extremely busy developing new product for the world level bi-annual event. The team spent many hours in development with leading team drivers to develop a new high-speed body specifically for the latest circuits and specifically the one in Buenos Aires. One of the most recognizable items dropped during the Worlds, the Silencer body style, has now been designed for perfect fit and finish on the Team Associated RC8.2 buggy.

A brand-new, ground up design, the Silencer, has new elements created for the highest speed circuits. A narrowed, Finnisher stance cockpit allows more fuel tank access a smoother high-speed transition and increased flow around the engine heat-sink. A deep recess around the heat-sink area with dual channeling out the rear provides air escape along with rear-end stability. The Silencer side-pods have a clipped rear-end, narrowing the rear by angling just in front of the rear tires. The extended runner features are placed on the rear-end of the body enhancing the force placed on the rear pods during high-speed acceleration.

The main pods are heavily chamfered and a more heat-shrink design over the pipe, fuel tank and electrical / linkage make up the main pods. The end result has the body looking extremely low-profile with heavy JConcepts edginess and appeal. The Silencer is capped off with a ****-pit “shark fin” for more high-speed tracking stability and increased roof stiffness.

The Silencer body in the hands of Ryan Maifield dominated the competition at the 2013 Dirt Nitro Challenge in Phoenix, Arizona. Ryan had this to say immediately following the event, “The track is totally gnarly out here and my buggy worked amazing in the 45 minute A-main. The Silencer body and Finnisher wing package on the RC8.2 is just perfect for these super high-speed tracks and edgy conditions. This body has been really durable and it looks incredibly low and sets the vehicle off just perfectly.”
