Readers’ Rides: Tamiya CC-01 Ford Bronco [October 2012]

Tamiya CC-01 Ford Bronco:  Wow! Norm went totally crazy building this rig. He started with a Tamiya CC-01 Ford Bronco because of its scale look and narrow stance.  He topped it off with a Tamiya F350 body with a handmade bed, toolbox, and backrack, and trimmed it off with handmade Power Stroke Diesel badging and full LED lighting and strobes.  Under that body is a 55T RC4WD Crawler motor.  This sweet truck wasn’t enough for Norm, so he hand-fabricated a fifth wheel to tow behind it.  He told us the entire thing was built from scratch with the exception of the wheels and tires, which were left over from the CC01kit.  This scaled, 34-foot trailer has all the amenities from five rooms complete with finished interiors, oak kitchen cabinets with granite countertops, a fireplace, a wall-mounted flat screen TV, a laptop, and even a few scale issues of RC Car Action. This thing is totally off the charts if you ask us. Nice job, Norm!
