Well, it all comes down to this! A week of grueling heat and humidity, massive traction, deteriorating track surface, DQs, TQs, and everything in between. As the action on the track kicks of right now, many are reflecting on their week searching for anything they may have missed. Minds go to the events of yesterday that unfolded and everyone is considering how they’re going to survive the very long mains under these type of conditions. Among the crowd are a handful of racers that have played the cards close to their chest and await the main to play their trump cards while others formulate plans to keep themselves up top. For the guys on top, running smooth and as consistent as they have all week will be essential to commanding control of the race. For those behind them, hungry to steal the victory away, clever planning and perhaps a little extra experience will be their weapons of choice. Only time will tell but one thing is for sure, by the end of today we will have a new National Champion heading into the Worlds later this year!

About the author

Associate Editor I can say that I’ve never done ANYTHING as long as I’ve been into RC. I got my first car when I was 11 and never looked back. Since then I’ve owned hundreds of cars and trucks and raced everything from Off-Road to Boats but I’m an Oval racer at heart. Whether I’m down siding a jump or going fast and turning left, it’s all on and my foot is to the floor! I love seeing new people discover our hobby and helping anyone I can enjoy it more. When I’m not racing or writing, I like to restore vintage RC cars and organize the Vintage Offroad Nationals. I’m also a dad and enjoy teaching my son how to drive and watching him get into this hobby on his own.
