All week the topic of weather has been popping up in just about everyone’s conversation and so far the rain seems to just keep slipping away. Then we started hearing about the weather on just the other side of the Gulf of Bothnia in Sweden…Rain, rain, and more rain. As I was preparing this post IFMAR president Dallas Mathiesen showed me a photo of a car floating in a flooded area of Sweden. Turns out that same storm that just ripped through Sweden is working it’s way over to Finland. At the moment current weather is around 75 deg with 70%+ humidity. This however is about to change in approx 3 hrs when the storm should be technically arriving. IFMAR officials are going to have a meeting around noon to evaluate the situation and proceed accordingly in order to keep racing going or considering the thought of bringing to program to a halt until tomorrow. As far as current racing goes, 1st round of qualifying has just begun and racers are enjoying the last bit of sunshine before the storm arrives. Check back for more updates.
