While reviewing the Kyle Busch race replica truck I was able to meet up with Kyle Busch at Dover Downs International Raceway. I was psyched because he took time out of his busy schedule to sit down for a quick interview with me. Here’s just some of what he had to say:
How long have you been into RC?
I’ve been involved in RC since I was a little kid. I remember messing around with RC cars in the neighborhood on the pavement and then we got into the dirt stuff and started racing off-road. Competitively, it’s been a back-and-forth battle between me and my brother. He always had the newer, better stuff and I always had the hand-me-downs.
What is your favorite class of RC
My favorite class of RC racing is the short course stuff. Racing the Traxxas Slashes and being able to race the 2WD and the 4WD, that’s fun for me. It’s got that dirt background and you can kind of sling them around and bang them up a little bit.
What was it like racing in the Traxxas TORC series?
Racing in the full-size stuff was a blast. I loved racing in the Traxxas TORC series, it was really, really fun. I got good experience with it at Crandon, WI. I tested out there and had a pretty good session and then we went to the shorter courses in the Chicagoland Speedway infield. It was fun and gave me a whole new aspect of how those guys are and how they race.
