Novak Ballistic 550 Epoxy Wound Stator

Novak Ballistic 550 Epoxy Wound Stator

Earlier this year, Novak introduced the Ballistic 540 Epoxy Dipped Hand Wound Stators – 8.5T – 17.5T (#S6608E – #S6617E). To address the rigorous motor demands of 4×4 Short Course racing, Novak is pleased to add the Ballistic 550 Epoxy Dipped Hand Wound Stator – 4.5T (#S6504E). This stator includes all of the features of Novak’s already high-quality stator with the added benefits of epoxy.

BENEFITS OF EPOXY COATING

Novak’s Ballistic 550 Hand Wound Stators are dipped in a special motor winding epoxy and then oven-cured for several hours. Once the epoxy is cured, it improves the reliability of Novak’s stators by preventing the wires in the stator from moving or rubbing against the laminations and other wires. This helps to prevent unwanted shorts in the motor coils, which can lead to premature failure.

The epoxy also helps transfer heat away from the wires and to the lamination, helping to cool the motor and thereby improving operation at the higher power levels necessary in extreme 4×4 racing conditions.

NOVAK’S INTERCHANGABLE BALLISTIC STATORS

Novak’s Ballistic motors revolutionized brushless racing by featuring interchangeable wound stator construction. By unscrewing the main screws, the motor’s end bells and sensor assemblies can easily be removed to leave only the stator, which can be replaced if damaged with a different wound stator.

Like all Novak brushless motors, the Ballistic 550 Epoxy Dipped Hand Wound Stator- 4.5T is designed and tested at the Novak facility in Irvine, Calif. Each stator is hand-wound for maximum copper fill and undergoes rigorous individual testing for consistency. The stators are also inspected, packaged and weighed to ensure the best product is sent to customers.
