My Thoughts On…

Short Course Racing:
I think there are big changes happening in the RC industry, and at the top of the board is the short course class. There is still some people out there that don’t think it is a real class and think it’s a waste of time. Well, you are wrong. It’s the best thing that has happened to RC in a long time. A cheap, strong, realistic looking, durable-but-still-competitive class—how can you not love that? If you are one of the short course haters, just go run one club race and I guarantee it will change your mind.

The Best RC Track:
I think the best track in the U.S. right now would be any one that doors are still open with good sales and race turn outs. I have never really had a favorite track; I just love racing, so I love every track.

Best RC Memory:
My best memory would be the 2005 Worlds in Italy. I TQ’ed the 4WD class, and I finished 3rd in both 4WD and 2WD. It was my first world championship and it went pretty well.

My Toughest Competitor:
My toughest competitor would have to be myself. I know I have the speed to win, but sometimes if I can’t get out of my own head, I start questioning my tires and/or car setup. If I let other people influence my decisions instead of trusting my gut instincts, that’s when I have a bad weekend.

Favorite Class:
If I could race just one class, I would probably say 1/8-scale off-road. It’s the most competitive, the hardest to win and the fastest right now. If you can get it all right and take home a win, it is very self rewarding.
