Northeast Pro Series Round 3; Caster on the podium

Latest race news from Caster Racing USA:

The Northeast Pro Series Round #3 was held this past weekend at Control Freakz Raceway in Chaplin, CT. Friday practice had a loose, but hard track. The track was a sand and clay mixture. Traction was good as long as you stayed in the groove, which was very small. I tried a few different tires and compounds. First few tank were good and then I tried moving my upper shock tower positions in on the tower. It was a perfect change and the car felt dialed. On power steering was great and it handled the bumps. The first qual on Saturday I TQed. The second and third rounds went good, but a few mistakes cost me another TQ. Going into the fourth round I was in a battle with another guy for TQ. Whoever won the fourth was going to take TQ. I had my fastest qualifier yet and locked in TQ. The A main came around and I did not change the set-up. I opted for a harder compound because of the hard abrasive track. Right from the start I felt great and was holding off the competition. 1st – 3rd pulled away from the pack and it was a good race. Then I developed a lean bog, but did not want to chance a pitstop to fix it so I toughed it out for 20 more minute and finished 3rd. It was a great weekend and the car NEVER had a problem all weekend. The 3rd place finish secured a 3rd place finish overall in the Northeast for Open Buggy.
