Latest race new from Kyosho:

This month’s featured track in RC Car Magazine, The Winter Race Place, saw over 70 entries on January 23, 2010. The Winter Race Place is located just a few miles outside of Joplin, MO and drivers from Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas showed up to make this club race one to remember.

Kyosho team driver Mike Jackson TQ’d all three classes entered including: 2WD buggy running a Kyosho RB5 SP, 1/8 nitro buggy running a Kyosho MP9, as well as 1/8 nitro truggy running a Kyosho STRR. In 2wd buggy Jackson’s RB5 SP handled flawlessly and was one of the few able to get the drive to clear the big triple, enabling Jackson to take the win.

For the first time since opening back in October, T.W.R.P started its nitro classes with an inverted starting order, which put the TQ, Jackson, in last place on the grid. Truggy started out with Alan Watson taking the early lead. At around the 10 minute Mark Watson surrendered the lead to Jackson and he never looked back putting a lap on the entire field.

In buggy it was a different story, the first few laps were harsh on the entire field except for Losi driver Sean Thomas. Thomas got a huge lead and had almost lapped everyone halfway into the race. Once the field got sorted out the crowd was on its feet as Jackson’s MP9 was crossing it up over the triple setting him perfectly for the 180 turn immediately after. It was moves like this that put Jackson back in contention for the lead. With less than a minute to go Jackson got by Thomas and won by only 3 seconds!
