Castle Creations Mamba Micro Pro

RCCARACTION Default Image

The Castle Creations Mamba 25 system was one of the first brushless systems specially designed for 1/18-scale vehicles. It brought a whole new level of speed to the minis. While this brushless system is super reliable and an excellent performer, technology is constantly improving and new speed controls have been released. The most recent from Castle Creations (in the mini scale) is the Mamba Micro Pro.

Higher-quality FETs and an integrated heat sink allow this new sensorless brushless speed control to handle more current while remaining even cooler than previous models. This allows you to use even larger motors than the standard brushless 280 style if your vehicle takes them. Due to the higher capacity, your car will react more smoothly off the line with even more power.

We were sent the Mamba Micro Pro with the 6800kV motor package. This motor I have always found to be the best balance of controllable power and all-out speed. The Mamba Micro Pro can be programmed via the Castle Link system and works like a charm; it was very easy to set up. You can program such parameters as throttle and brake curves, punch control, along with braking strength. You can even save different profiles for quick switching of settings. The auto battery function works great, and I could switch between 2- and 3-cell LiPo batteries without changing the settings. The system worked flawlessly and had extremely smooth acceleration. So much so, you’d think the system is sensored. The speed control stayed ice cold and didn’t miss a beat no matter what surface or how abusive I was to the car.

This system is a real winner. If you’re looking to get the most out of your mini RC car, you need to look no further than the Mamba Micro Pro.
