THE MONGOOSE IS RELEASED

Irvine, CA – January 4, 2008 — Novak has bred a new micro brushless system that is ready to be released–the Mongoose Micro Brushless System. This system includes the new Novak Mongoose Brushless/Brush ESC factory-wired to one of three, new Novak Three-80 Micro Pro Brushless Motors. The Three-80 Micro Pro is the first sensor-based brushless motor that is specifically designed for 1/18 and 1/16-scale cars. Because it is sensored and lightweight, it gives these micro scale cars the ability to maneuver at high speeds in extremely tight spaces, all with unsurpassed low speed and braking control. The Mongoose’s Brushless/Brush ESC and sensored brushless motor are perfectly matched to maximize performance and handle with the agility and speed of a mongoose.

WHY SENSORED?

Like the popular Novak Velociti brushless motors, the Three-80 Micro Pro motors feature a sensor commutation design. Knowledge of rotor position is key to smooth performance and is just as important in micro vehicles as in larger-scale vehicles. When the speed control always knows the rotor position, there is no h
esitation before acceleration under load. The motor will provide excellent low-speed driveability, excellent starting torque, smooth braking and no uncontrolled bursts of power. Other motor features include a high-strength, Sintered Neodymium rotor for maximum motor acceleration, an oversized front bearing for increased load handling and bearing life, and a rugged 1/8” shaft diameter. Like all Novak brushless motors, the Three-80 Micro Pro motors are rebuildable.

FULLY FEATURED ESC

The Mongoose Micro Brushless/Brush ESC is a versatile, full-featured speed control specifically developed for micro applications. In addition to its compatibility with both brushless and brush motors, it instinctively knows via its Auto-Detect Brushed Mode when a brush motor is connected. Multiple throttle profiles are included for different driving styles, including a racing brushless profile for top-level forward performance and two profiles with reverse. Additional features of the Mongoose Micro ESC are its on-board programmability, built-in 2S & 3S Li-Po Cutoff Circuitry, heavy duty 6.0V/2A BEC and a water-resistant case.

THREE SYSTEMS TO CHOOSE FROM

Novak’s Mongoose Micro Brushless Systems are available with one of three Novak Three-80 Micro Pro Brushless Motors:

·         Mongoose Micro Brushless System 8.5: is 8.5 turns and 9,000 Kv and recommended for drivers looking for the fastest Novak sensor-based Micro Brushless System. (System #3050)

·         Mongoose Micro Brushless System 10.5: is 10.5 turns and 7,300 Kv and recommended for racers looking for a system that offers a great balance between power and runtime. (System #3051)

·         Mongoose Micro Brushless System 13.5: is 13.5 turns and 6,000 Kv and recommended for users looking for power with the longest possible runtimes. (System #3052)

The Mongoose Micro Brushless/Brush ESC (#1718) and the Three-80 Micro Pro Brushless Motors (#3450/8.5-turn, #3451/10.5-turn, and #3452/13.5-turn) are also available individually.

The new Mongoose Micro Brushless Systems, Mongoose Brushless/Brush ESC and Three-80 Micro Pro Brushless Motors are scheduled for shipment in March 2008. For more information about this product and other Novak products, visit the Novak Web site (www.teamnovak.com).
