A NEW BRUSHLESS RACING OPTION

Irvine, CA – August 21, 2007 – To further expand Novak’s already extensive SS Pro Brushless Motor series, Novak is pleased to introduce the #3417 SS17.5 Pro Brushless Motor. The SS17.5 Pro was designed specifically to excel in the ARCOR, Southwest Tour, and Brushless Racing League’s new 17.5-turn brushless class. The 17.5-turn, 540-size, sensor-based brushless motor is slower than the other motors in the SS Pro Series, making this motor great for beginning drivers, stock drivers or those looking for extended run times.

To even the playing field, many race organizations have created spec motor classes. A few of these associations have specifically asked Novak to fill this growing need for slower standardized motors, and have accepted the SS17.5 Pro Brushless Motor as a standard at many races.

A standard feature of the SS Pro Series is the Novak ROAR-approved, Nickel-plated Sintered Neodymium rotor. The rotor is the same high-performance rotor that the Velociti 3.5R motor (and all Velociti motors) currently features. The 12.3mm rotor is ideal to use in any and all applications, and provides many benefits, including:

  • Significantly increased magnetic strength for improved throttle feel
  • Improved, stronger motor braking power
  • Improved performance in higher temperatures
  • Improved motor acceleration and power
  • Higher efficiency
  • Lower current draw
  • Nickel-plated for a long lasting, smooth, clean finish

Another standard feature of the SS Pro Series is the set of ribbed, aluminum end bells. The lightweight, aluminum end bells not only reduce the overall weight of the motor, but the ribbed design also acts as a heat sink by efficiently removing excessive heat from the motor.

The SS Pro brushless motors are equipped with all of the great standard features found on all Novak motors, including a convenient Solder Tab System for easy wire replacement; Sensor-Based Technology for excellent starting torque, low-speed drivability and smooth acceleration; the same Oversized Front Bearing used in Novak’s Velociti-series motors that is more rugged, extra durable and helps extend motor life; and Thermal Overload Protection (when used with a Novak brushless ESC) that allows pack after pack to be run without fear of damaging the motor, battery or speed control.

The #3417 SS17.5 Pro Brushless Motor is now available, and the retail price is $129. Meets ROAR specifications. All of the SS Pro Brushless motors are designed, hand-wound and dyno-tested in California by Novak.
