A Volvo RC vehicle is just about as rare a thing as a Big Foot sighting. With Micheal’s Axial-based rig, you get both—because he has installed a Sasquatch driver figure behind the wheel of his SCX10-XC90. But don’t let the whimsical wheelman fool you—this is a serious scale project. It uses the SCX10 chassis and axles, with a Dinky RC GR7 gear reduction and split skid. RC4WD supplied the winch, metal bumpers and sliders. Micheal made his own fender flares out of windshield wiper material. Power comes from an Axial 55T motor with a Holmes Hobbies controller. Gear Head RC UTE beadlock 1.55 wheels hold Dick Cepek Fun Country tires from RC4WD. A ton of effort went into the scale interior, which has cloth on the seats, door panels, floor and headliner. There is scale camping gear inside, and the gauge cluster is wired for light, along with the headlights and taillights. This is a fun, unusual vehicle that showcases uncommon attention to detail.
