Top Gun Shootout @ SDRC Raceway [PHOTOS][VIDEO][RESULTS]

What an epic race this past weekend at SDRC Raceway! Why do they call it Top Gun Shootout? Well, SDRC is in Miramar California and right next door is the military base (back then it was Air Force, now its Marines) where they filmed Top Gun starring Tom Cruise. This was the first year this race has been ran and SDRC did a spectacular job on the track and running the race program. A lot of SoCal’s best racers, which included National and World Champions, came out in search of race glory and a nice cash payout. The race format was qualifying all day saturday, and the mains were ran on sunday that featured Triple A-Mains. If you happened to qualify in a lower main, you still had the chance to bump up all the way to the big show. Competition was close and you can check it out for yourself in the video below of all the pro triple A-mains! – Joel Navarro
