The 447-S utilizes state-of-the-art peak prediction circuitry to protect batteries from damage due to overcharging. Standard peak detection circuitry continues charging even after the battery is fully charged, which can damage the battery. Instead, the 447-S continuously monitors the battery's charge curve, calculates when the peak will occur, and stops charging at that point.
Advanced Trickle Charge mode automatically begins when the battery is completely charged. This pulse current charge function keeps the battery charged until it is ready for use and conditions the cells to ensure maximum performance and longevity.

For the listed price I can get any number of chargers that do far more for the same price or less, many of them LiPo compatible, with LCD screens for battery status and ble amperage. I guess the question is WHY?

i guess horizon's exclusive contract for this charger (prophet plus) ran out - hopefully the reedy's price will be $40 like it should be.
