Futaba’s Electric Challenge was a fresh new racing format that will hopefully catch on. The race was held at two different tracks; RJD Hobbies and Raceways, which is in Lincoln, Illinois and JTec, which is in Danville, Illinois. The cumulative finishes at each track determined the overall winners. It was challenge for racers to find a set-up because each track offered very different surfaces. Not only did the race feature a unique format, but it was exclusively for electric 1/8-scale vehicles and short course trucks. Futaba, Checkpoint, Duratrax, Associated and Castle Creations gave away several prizes for the raffle. Racers also went home with a goody bag that included a t-shirt, magazines, and decals. This event will be held again in Illinois next summer so mark your calendars. Check out the photos from the Futaba Electric Challenge. We’ll also post videos as well.
